Gabriela Dumitran is a designer who launched her eponymous line in 2007. In her atelier she handcrafts the most stunning hats and headpieces using only the finest materials. Her meticulous attention to detail combined with her love for contemporary design transforms her creations in objets d`art.
Able to strike the right balance between tradition and innovation she creates unique pieces that are timeless yet very modern. Taking inspiration from architecture, sculpture and avantgarde design Gabriela adds a new dimension to the fine art of millinery: that of technical sophistication.

The installation imagined by Gabriela Dumitran has more of a therapeutic significance, with the birds symbolizing the creative energies that are hold captive by the subconscious. In an attempt to release these suppressed forces the artist tries to free himself from the social conventions and cultural constraints as represented by the white bird. In this process of artistic expression scattered thoughts and ideas remain suspended in between, while others are recalled by the conscious mind. This allegorical ensemble is created using wire, felt and silk as materials.
