The lounge was shaped like a comfort zone, with ergonomics suited for relaxation and casual interaction with the ever-present mobile gadgets. A sound-absorbing geometry partially enveloping the user reduces the humming noise in the terminal and provides protected areas for individuals or small groups. In terms of furnishing, the self-service and food-court areas were tackled using a conventional formula. However, the reflections and gradient transparencies, the visual filters and boundaries are means of interference with the pure geometric perception of space by introducing ambiguity and fusion between various surfaces. The seeming weightlessness of the objects in the setup is in tune with the emotional charge experienced by people before embarking on a travel.
The bright colours of the floor and soft surfaces in the design are a cheerful counterpoint to the vast technical ensemble, reaching maximum potential in the abundant natural light of the terminal.
