SPECIFIC
The main activity of VALLUM is public building design. Beyond that, they’re specialized in urbanism, landscape architecture and monument restoration. They are self-conscious about the social impact of any architectural action and assume this charge. Every project is preceded by an inner competition of sketches and ideas, and the final solution is chosen through a debate. During the creation, they take account of the urban dimensions and the economic and energy efficiency of the outcome. They often generate architectural and urbanistic topics on local and regional level. Beyond the continuous concern of effectiveness and raise of the design quality, theu would like to deal with the urbanistic efficacy and the economic efficiency of the architectural object.

ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES
2014 // MARKETPLACE // Miercurea Ciuc
The project tries to put in focus the food producing farmer, by incorporating his traditional rural culture related to nature and his life determined by nature's cycles. Vallum investigated the area for finding those elements which can inspire a locally specific architectural solution with clear identity. The belief is that the traditional farmer's value system, based on harmony with nature, simplicity, honor, honesty is a valid one even for today and their solution tries to create a familiar ambiance for him by combining forms, elements, materials, spaces in a human scaled building with the potential of branding this value. Although the contemporary reality of marketplaces seems to show otherwise, it must become a contemporary basilica for the farmer (basilica in the roman sense of marketplace and socializing arena). The proposed building consists of four main pitched roofed volumes, arranged similarly with the rows of above mentioned barns, connected with low volumes, constructed with contemporary techniques. Thus it gets a familiar aspect for local people, connected to traditional architecture, but which, by it's architectural detailing, relation between interior and exterior, and the enclosed services addresses the contemporary man.
2014 // THE SALT ROAD // Sovata-Praid
For promoting the recreational facilities in Sovata resort, a tourism development plan was proposed for the Bear Lake and its surroundings. On a protected area of 70 h with salt mountains, salt lakes and specific vegetation, this resulted in a network of pedestrian walkways and didactic paths with floating pontoons, relax places, beach platforms, look-out constructions and a tower. The construction material is mainly from local sources: firwood and oakwood, and the construction techniques used are reversible. These landscape architectural objects get inspiration from the composition principles of nature, and melts into the environment.
A fully wooden structure, reversible and adjusted to relief, gives birth to a swimming pool on the shore of Tineretului Lake in Sovata.
