HISTORY
Vlad Oană graduated art high school „Dinu Lipatti” from Pitești and is currently studying architecture at ”Ion Mincu”. At the 2014 edition of Romanian Design Week, he exhibited a table with organic shapes inspired by anatomy. In march 2015 he participated at ”limited edition / Romanian design” exhibition with the theme color of the year- marsala, organized by CID Grup. Vlad exhibited a lighting object and received the jury prize for the most correct implementation of the color.
SPECIFIC
Vlad is an artist that enjoys playing in a creative manner with organic shapes and to transpose (experimentally) in diverse materialities. A part of his objects have already been presented in design exhibitions. For a good period of time, he had done models of different types. Lately, he left himself involved in more creative activities, he modeled an object and tried to give it the physical shape.

Toy cars come in various designs and colors whose parts can be joined and combined with each other with the help of magnetic bars. They are long lasting toys because their production uses sustainable materials (wood, scrap wood for a lower environmental impact).
2016 // WOOD W CHAIR
Wood W Chair is a lightweight chair that offers to the user interactivity, from the process of assembling it to its personalization in different color or color combinations. The joints of the chair’s legs with the pieces on which is placed the chair seat are inspired by natural wood knots. The proposed material for the chair realization are oak, pine, beech and manufacture techniques are the use CNC router, wood lathe and hand finishing.

The object experiments an approach of folds, bends and clippings in diverse patterns on sheet metal as material, using as less as possible ways of processing (cuts and and bending, natural antiquation).

Decorative lighting object that combines diverse materials (wood, concrete, glass). It is a passing from an engineering shape of tetrapod to a natural, organic, plant shape. The object is a gradually incursion from shape to material, towards diffuse light.

2014 // Anatomic table and chair
Table and chair made from conifererous wood, table with tempered glass countertop, structure made from triple layered (multiplex) and legs made from fir wood, manually processed. Chair made also from fir wood (pine), with the seat and backrest made from overlapping veneer sheets glued together. Broadely, cutting the pieces is made with a router.
