  • New formats in #RDW2018 program
1/1
Romanian Design Week, the most important multidisciplinary event in Romania, at its sixth edition, will be held in Bucharest between 18-27th of May. The RDW program will present the current development status of local design and creative industries: architecture, urbanism, interior design, graphic design, illustration, fashion design, object design or any other initiatives and projects that use creativity as a main resource.

The festival will include a Romanian design exhibition that will present the best projects and initiatives in the last year in Romania, as well as a series of new formats meant to highlight the dialogue between different disciplines, and also having the opportunity of complementary approaches in design, as well as a series of related events that will map the space and initiatives that promote and encourage the growth of local design and creative industries.
This year's edition will be defined by the complexity of the festival's architecture and the increased relevance of the project at regional and European level.

"Starting with the 2015 edition, Romanian Design Week enjoyed an important international component within the festival and managed to gain a lot of attention and coverage in international media, which contributed to increasing the relevance of the project at regional and European level, and also improved the perception of Bucharest's creativity in general. Starting with the 2017 edition, we wanted to invest even more in this positive perception and launched the Creative Quarter project, and at this year's Romanian Design Week we are trying to talk about creativity and innovation as tools for economic and social development, and also about their potential to contribute to the overall image and development of a city. At this year's edition, we intend to make this happen through a series of new formats that have been created within the project, to engage the audience and to enhance the synergies from the Creative Quarter, this probably being the newest and most ambitious The Institute project we’ve had so far", said Andrei Borţun, CEO The Institute.
