By fostering the acquisition of skills, training and collaborative work, We Are Museums is an active partner for entities that want to make a difference and are not afraid to start conversations.
We Are Museums is a project based in Paris and Berlin and includes yearly events and projects. Now in its fourth year, it gathers 40 speakers from 9 countries symbolizing the diversity of innovation within museums speaking over two days at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, located in the former People’s Palace in Bucharest, the largest building in Europe. They originate from prestigious institutions such as the Van Gogh Museum (Netherlands), the Palace of Versailles (France), The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (USA), Tate (UK), the Polin Museum (Poland) and many more. They will bring inspiration and practical knowledge to an audience of 300 delegates coming from 15 countries.

We Are Museums 2016 is a community project coorganized with the National Network of Romanian Museums acting as local facilitator and is made possible by the concourse of the Institut Français, the British Council, the Polish Institute, the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Goethe Institut. It is supported by the Romanian Ministry of Culture and National Patrimony and NEMO, the Network for European Museum Organisations.
For the first time this year, We Are Museums will be extended to three days with the inception of ‘Museum Rocket’, the first young entrepreneurship and museum fair. Targeting budding cultural entrepreneurs from all Europe, Museum Rocket is supported by Unicredit Bank and by ARCUB, Bucharest’s Municipal center for the promotion of culture.
