ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCE
2015 // S3 Project
S3 aims to offer a design solution for Eastern European furniture startups and also SME.
To avoid an expensive manufacturing process, the goal was to create objects that can be produced easily and fast using simple tools and ready-made materials.
S3 design means:
- easily produced
- simple and practical
- easily stacked
- joyful and colorful
A key element in the design language is the underframe structure. Therefore this frame can be easily adapted for a wide family of objects while still maintaining important design elements.
We applied the concept for the first S3 range of stools and tables
To increase practicality and to be space efficient, the objects can be stacked vertically.
When stacked vertically, the felt stools form a beautiful and dynamic color pattern.
We focused to combine efficiency, practicality and aesthetics. A clean shape with natural materials in mind like wood and felt is the simple nature of the S3 design.
