Never before in Romania has the Polish design – from everyday use objects as to pieces of art – been presented in such a cross-cutting manner. The anniversary of 100 years since the regaining of its independence by Poland is a wonderful occasion for it.

The exhibition „The ABC of Polish Design” presents for the first time in such a complex manner 100 objects, their 100 plastic interpretations and 100 histories of projects that changed Poles’ lives.
The exhibition was created to mark the anniversary of 100 years since the regaining of its independence by Poland.
Friday, 19.05, 18hs00, Deschis Gastrobar (str. Splaiul Unirii 160) - Dominik Strycharski’s concert
Dominik Strycharski is a Polish composer, singer and performer. He performs various embodiments of contemporary music, from electric and acoustic jazz to electronic music, post-hip-hop, or improvised music. He is also a well-known author of music for theatrical performances.
Wednesday, 23.05, 19hs00, NOD Makerspace / MATER (str. Splaiul Unirii 160) – lecture „Icons of Romanian design”
Assoc. prof. dr. Radu Comșa, designer and lecturer of UNARTE will speak about the design projects - milestones of the Romanian design along the latest 100 years. His presentation will be related to Polish objects, projects and prototypes put on display within the exhibition „The ABCs of Polish design”.
Saturday, 26.05, 16hs00 and 17hs30 – curator’s tour of the exhibition “The ABC of Polish design”
Ewa Solarz, the curator of the exhibition has been recently recognized as one of the most influential women in Polish design. She is also the author of remarkable publications about design for grown- ups and children, including books such as „D.E.S.I.G.N.” or „The illustrated ABC of design”. In Bucharest she will show around the exhibition she has curated.

Sunday, 27.05, 16hs00 – illustrative workshops for children
Award-winning Polish illustrators, Agata Dudek and Małgorzata Nowak from Acapulco Studio will show the children how book illustrations are created. They both graduated the Graphics department of the Warsaw Academy of Arts; they also designed the visual identification of the exhibition “The ABCs of Polish Design”.

We bring Poland closer, beyond its borders! We present to other peoples our culture and art, the history, science, education or achievements of our NGOs. We support the collaboration between Poland and other countries in these areas. We help our active partners in the field of international cultural exchanges in establishing contacts.
Like the other 23 Polish institutes in the world, we are part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. We are dealing with public and cultural diplomacy, we work with artists, experts, the media and opinion-forming media.
We take care that Poland is active in the public and cultural life of different countries, and we also have an informative-educational activity, by supporting the learning of Polish language outside our country.
