Alexandru Floarea is a young designer showing an attraction to matter, always seeking new ways of expression through personal experiments with unconventional materials. The "Sexual state of mind" outfit is a tribute to American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, this year marking 30 years since his death. The endless gradation of black and white, shadow and light, both elegant and provocative, are the key elements of his works and the catalyst that influenced the designer to transpose them into a fashion garment. This outfit aims a reappraisal of the view on human sexual nature.

Black Subdivision Collection may be described as an example of inspirational amalgam which is based on the combination of different structures, and shapes with natural elements. Some of those forms represent an attempt of creating thru unconventional techniques, artificial textures of fabrics, inspired by the natural form.
Shaped in organic structures - animal or vegetable, hard or liquid, created by chemical reactions or volcanoes activity, charred textures or animal bone structures , nature amazes me with the fascinating compositions and shapes, establishing the highest level of art.
The works are created by burning processes, pasting, melting and repeated overlap of felt, natural or ecological fur, leather, melted organza and veil, dissolution of various adhesives, bitumen burning or animal bone structures, combined with silicone or resin.

Current collection theme is war . Although overall vision causes discomfort, is forcing the audience to reflect on the transience of humanity ,to life damage, and to our current problems regarding violence, discrimination , racism , terrorism and hatred between peoples.
