Cristina Ginara, UAUIM student, has drawn the charcoal illustrations for Pa_CT. Justin Baroncea, architect, initiator and coordinator for both Turb@ and Pa_CT projects– text, script, boat construction; Ioana Trușcă, architect and illustrator, has drawn the charcoal illustrations for Turb@1; coordinates illustrations for Pa_CT; Alexandru Ivanof, UAUIM student, has constructed the boat for Pa_CT; Radu Manelici, graphic designer, has created the graphic design for Pa_CT and Turb@1.
2019 // Pa_CT – Bye, Constanta!
The Pa_CT book follows the adventures of the rabbit that survived the chemical marshmallow attack in Turb@.All of Dr Yu’s other black rabbits have turned into white chubby bunnies.
The rabbit flees to Constanta, where he meets Fasole the Rat. Together they think up a way in which to escape to a volcanic island, where coal remains the main source of energy.
The book becomes a pretext for discovering another perspective on recycling, designing and innovation. The two friends build a boat from “scratch”. In order for it to be included in the story, the boat was actually built, scale 1:1. It’s perfectly functional and will prompt its own „launch-into-water”. Launching a boat in order to make the launch of a book possible.
A book about the strange friendship between a high-on-coal rabbit and a rat that steals, invents, designs and-when required- builds. Two friends run away from a place in which they feel threatened and are forced to hide, a place where they’re „the misfits”.
