ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES
2018 // Manifest
The Manifest project draws attention to a frequently encountered issue, violence against women. It is one of the most widespread forms of violation of women's fundamental rights, one in three women declaring that they have suffered from physical or mental violence. The worrying statistics show that no country is out of the way, so today the struggle is on all levels, and an artistic approach meant to bring light and solidarity to the troubled souls is welcome.
A first major step would be women's awareness and empowerment to break silence and act to eliminate any form of violence against them.
The two designers created the collection using their own faces to create photos with a strong visual impact, exploiting the image of the aggrieved woman. This is an alarming signal on this social cause in which the involvement and mobilization of each of us is necessary.
