Lucian Varvaroi is a Bucharest based designer, who's creative inspirations are drawn from the aesthetics of classic menswear, which he translates into updated contemporary looks.
SPECIFIC
Queer culture plays an important role in his take on fashion, the garment's main purpose being to rather fit the unconventional needs of a non-conforming crowd, than to achieve the commercial appeal suited for the mass-market.

Today’s society has imposed a very clear and rigid idea of what a “real man” should look and dress like, creating a backwarded and dull aesthetic that was unfortunately embraced as a golden standard also by the queer community. Sportswear and power-dressing have played a very important role in this project as they have been an equivalent for masculinity for decades. Therefore, one of the first “Masc Uniforms” gets a make-over through upcycling and deconstructing second-hand sneakers. The bomber jacket and biker-inspired trousers, have implied manual and industrial work, complex patterns and the addition of accessories to reach its final state.
