HISTORY
Irina Costescu is a Graphic Arts graduate student of the National University of Arts in Bucharest. Her work and research main activities include bookmaking and illustration, editorial design and graphic design.
SPECIFIC
The research activity consists in analyzing the cognitive movements in human behavior, as simplifying, generalization and structuring the objects around. She produces different illustrations and graphic solutions as possible visual results.

The present book contains three chapters of visual information that researches the intercommunication and the relationships between well known people around.
The game, as a mental action for solving different problems and the toy, as a visual object that makes the imaginative and cognitive side of human behavior, are the main topics in this book project. By joining the peoples’ typologies and gestures to the characteristics of different puzzle toy materials like wood, metal or wires, the illustrations talk about the multiple ways of creating a communication network, with it’s different channels and different rearrangements.
Starting from the idea that the relationships between people could be visually simplified and schematized as they continue to develop over time, she created the visual content based on the mental process rather than the final result.
