ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES
2018 // Mafia – the game for the worst part of you
“Mafia – the game for the worst part of you” is an illustration and graphic design project for one of the most popular games in Romania, which has never had its own identity, usually borrowing the classic poker cards.
The players are brought in the situation to lie, make alliances, betray, be sneaky or harsh. It’s a game that made friends play off against each other and broke relationships. Following this observation, the illustration concept proposes a game for the worst part of you, highlighting the malefic, monstrous side of each player: from savage criminals, to inhuman cops, to weird doctors and eccentric, far from innocent citizens. The criminals and the citizens try to kill each other. Each player receives a card with a role. The game unrolls during a couple of so called days, the Narrator being the one who coordinates every action, until one of the groups wins.
