HISTORY
Biodeck is a Romanian brand, founded in 2017. They didn’t understand why something as perishable as food is packaged in something as permanent as plastic. That’s why a young group of four people decided to found Biodeck, in order to offer a sustainable alternative to single use packaging.
SPECIFIC
Biodeck has a wide range of 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging, made from plants, like sugarcane pulp and corn starch. They strive to leave the world better than they found it.

Biodeck Artwork Series is an ecological project which strives to raise awareness regarding environmental issues such as single use plastic pollution. The paper cups are illustrated by two well know Romanian illustrators – Evelin Bundur and Saddo. This project is situated on the cutting edge between environmentalism, bridging worlds such as art, science and manufacturing. Furthermore, pressing ecological issues call for a shift to a collaborative model in order to make a difference. This way, artists get to infuse our daily lives through functional products, such as coffee cups.
Paper coffee cups are considered some of the greatest polluters of our times. We enjoy our coffee for 10 minutes, but then it takes the coffee cup hundreds of years to decompose. That’s because coffee cups are normally lined with plastic. Not the Biodeck cups, which are lined with an innovative film, made from plants. This way one of the polluters becomes an ambassador for embracing a sustainable lifestyle.
