ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES
2019 // Prague Spring / 50 years
The poster commemorates the Spring of Prague / 50 years. The text Some ”visited” us at 1968. You did not. So visit us in 2018! is an acknowledgement of Romania's refuse of invading Czechoslovakia in 1968.
2019 // Fiction Tuesdays
Poster series for the "Fiction Tuesdays" movie nights at the Czech Center in Bucharest.
2019 // Prut / Matei Bejenaru
Project PRUT is the result of an artistic research dedicated to the rural area on the Romanian shore of the Prut River (counties Iasi, Botosani, Vaslui). Started by artist Matei Bajenaru, the project tries to understand the profound mindframes and material life that exists inside a contemporary Romanian village, in opposition with a rudimentary perception of the rural territory from the perspective of migration or archaism.
2018 // Bucharest Jazz Festival 2017
Daniel & Andrew was responsible for the visual communication of the Bucharest Jazz Festival 6th edition.
Based on our research - which focused on identifying the visual stereotypes in the jazz and festival posters - we determined the musical instrument as the festival's central element. The reason was simple, we wanted to overcome the barriers of the cliché use of musical instruments, by exploiting both the materiality of the musical object, as well as the experimenting potential and improvisation specific to jazz. The industrial note of the trumpet is part of the urban imagery, which complements the background and produces a clear and energetic image by which the festival reaches its audiences. From the previous edition we kept the symbol representing a negative space formed at the intersection between the two "z"s, which we applied discretely on various communication materials.
2017 // Daniel & Andrew - Selected Works
Daniel & Andrew - Selected Works is a catalogue which contains selected projects made between 2011-2016.
