HISTORY
Diana and Bogdan have a keen interest in architecture, interior design, product design and urban installations. Their collaboration began eight years ago, when they were students. In college they had a very interesting chemistry, so everything rapidly became a team project. When they started on their own, they found out that they were completely different in many ways. Most times, they had a different view on things, but together, after negotiation, they got the result they were looking for, mutually complementing each other. In the summer of 2014 they were awarded the first prize in the international architecture competition Eco Arhipelag, organized by the Ivan Patzaichin - Mila 23. They also created, together with artist and curator Ioana Ciocan, "Uranus Chronic(ally)" for ’Spatiuexpandat’, an urban installation meant as a reminder for the series of massive demolitions in the city’s historical center during Nicolae Ceausescu's dictatorship.

SPECIFIC
They worked on projects ranging from interior design and showcases, to individual homes and large commercial projects, but there was always a special interest in design and especially object design. In parallel with their work, they pay a special attention to the soul projects that allow them to express themselves and explore unlimited valences that small objects can acquire. They believe that common objects that surround us and are part of everyday life have an important role in setting a certain atmosphere, a lifestyle and comfort level. Diana and Bogdan always try to explore these issues completing the concept and design solutions, while maintaining a natural approach. They believe in decorative objects which attract visually, but it is essential that they do not lose functionality.

ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES

2017// Cismigiu Apartment
Located in the heart of Bucharest, near the Cismigiu Park, the apartment was design as the ultimate bachelor pad. The interior is defined by clean lines, industrial touches and a minimalist, almost spartan approach to the whole concept.

2016 // Apartment no 3
The main goal of the design project was to create a large and bright space, both unitary and functionally coherent from a visual and aesthetic point of view. The apartment is transparent and fluid, the design unity being provided by the apparent concrete ceiling and the industrial looking, see-through metallic locks. The compact space shapes up like a balance between the cold, mineral materials, such as concrete, metal and glass, and the warm wooden trimming and the white cloth linings.

2015 // Free Miorița exhibition space
Light for Romania" is a project started in late April. The team from Free Mioriţa performs bicycle expeditions across the country, pedaling over 6,000 miles to find people in isolated communities that still live without electricity. Later, with the help of volunteers and sponsors bringing light into their homes by installing solar panels to ensure a minimum of comfort - a light bulb for reading, an outlet to be able to charge a mobile phone, a radio or a small TV so they can have access to information.
The exhibition, taking place for the first time during Street Delivery urban festival, tries to tell this story by using a small, modernist reinterpretation of a traditional wooden house, which will enclose a series of photographs exhibited using only candle light, a direct reference to the way of life of those communities. The installation will travel across country, to other festivals and urban events to raise awareness upon this matter among the public.

2014 // WOOD&WOOL capsule exhibition // La Borcan
"La borcan '' is an invitation to play and relieve important memories that we want to keep and revisit sometimes. Romanian tradition is filled with habits of keeping the elements you consider precious, from the dowry closely guarded until the wedding day, to the simple things like preserving pickles in a jar over winter. Likewise we need to collect our valuable, important memories and put them in storage. "La Borcan" is a common, functional object: a lamp, but one that offers you a special place where you can keep your memories.

2014 // La Borcan
In a context where the little things, the small details tend to go unnoticed or receive too little attention, sometimes the necessity to return to basics arises. So was born “La Borcan” project, a game between friends who felt the need to remember what is important and most of all the need to rediscover how to play. For them, the pleasant memories of childhood were those when they were playing and building paper objects and how they used to spend hours discovering new ways to improve and use them. Now, these objects are found reinterpreted in a more durable material: wood , to give them the importance they have in our mind and in our hearts. But we are different and the important things are different for each and everyone, so they wanted a versatile item that can accommodate any small object that represents a moment or a memory. The lamp consists of a wooden capsule covering the jar as an oversized cap, housing the bulb. The bottom of the jar keeps personal items of value, whatever they may be.
