BRAND/CLIENTS

Simplexio is a concept that brings together innovation by combining organic forms with complex mathematical elements provided by nature, embodied together in special furniture made of metal and glass. Although futuristic design is a reinvention of elements from nature, the concept must capture the essences of things, whether it is a leaf, a stone, a shell or a tissue seen under a microscope. The aim is to understand the form and its simplification so that the result is an abstraction of it.

Our clients are people who stand out for them, people who smile, people for whom the majority’s opinion does not matter as long as they are satisfied with themselves. They are people who buy designer creations not because they like to have an expensive item, but because they want to approach as much as possible the feeling of quality and comfort. And, of course, we also have some clients who play with shapes and colors and unusual combinations. These people have the time to understand the process, to understand art and they know how to appreciate it for what it means, for the passion and the invested hard work.

Simplexio complexity is simplicity. Simple handcrafts are often complex and vice versa. The objects we create represent the antithesis between simple and complex resulting in forms, often spectacular, essentially starting from a few simple patterns. We offer our customers objects that represent them. We produce unique pieces, customized to the needs of our clients. They can participate in the creative process all along, influencing the shape, size and color of the objects. Finally we provide an object that fits both their homes and personality. Talking to them is one of the most important parts of the process and so we are able to create objects that once completed and installed in the space may surprise equally ourselves and them. The best feeling is when the client says, “I did not expect something so cool.”

CAREER BEGINNINGS

Madalin Gheorghe - - is a young designer, fresh graduate of Interior Architecture at Ion MIncu University of Architecture. He divides his time between parametric architecture workshops, product design and his passion for art: “I have discovered my passion for design since childhood. Whether it was drawing, sketching or painting, I always believed in my work. The Faculty of Architecture helped me to grow, to refine my style and to discover the niche that suits me, the place that is my own in the unlimited universe of architecture. During college, I realized that my future was shaping one choice: to give all the passion and find my own way without limitations. Playing with designs, with styles and with digital production programs I have started creating furniture and interior accessories. At first, they were purely theoretical projects or tests… But eventually, more complex designs, possibilities and more ways of doing things differently began to take shape in my mind. I discovered parametric architecture alone, in 2011, when I attended a workshop on this topic in Cluj. There I met other young people fascinated by architecture parameters and we decided to develop a project together, MEDS, a contest that resulted in the construction of a pavilion on the beach in Silivri, Turkey.

Radu Procop - is the pragmatic side of the business Simplexio. Educational background is math-oriented, after a computer science master at the Faculty of Cybernetics. Studies offered me a way of looking at things, to see the detail and to understand all things by mathematical interaction. Meanwhile I realized that I don’t want math in my future, but I want to find an area where mathematics overlaps with creativity and people. This field is marketing, so I focused on SNSPA for another master’s degree, Brand Management, where I realized I had made the ideal decision. From professional point of view, we have evolved from job to job in sales marketing and branding, to the point when I decided it was time to do something besides the job, something  mine and made with passion. At that time I had the chance to meet Mădălin who told me about his concept, and so the beautiful project was born.

PLANS FOR TOMORROW

Our current collection is still in progress, so it’s a little early to discuss about plans. But, for sure, we want to grow, to communicate and to be present in and outside Europe (which is already happening through our partners and friends at BDC (Bucharest Design Center) and Molecule-f). Secondly, we will begin to create smaller decorative objects, all designed and manufactured using parametric design.

DESIGN MANIFESTO

The beauty of patterns / the patterns of beauty – our slogan and manifesto. On one hand we find the beauty of simple things and the patterns that process them to create your own beauty, on the other hand the business operates on a pattern: design – customer – customer understanding – personalization – execution – client’s smile.

POST RDW IMPRESSIONS

RDW was an event conceived and excellently performed, complex and with high impact. One of the reasons why the event is so important is that it was thought to attract ignorant public, unacquainted with the world of design and architecture.
