ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES
2018 // Storytelling Objects
The catalogue is conceived in a way in which it offers the reader an encounter with the exhibition Ștefan Câlția. Storytelling Objects (2017), inviting him/her to read, as well as to visually experience through photography and graphic design.
The graphic design of the catalogue is beyond the classic structure of this type of books through the chosen dimensions (27x32 cm) as well as through the smaller inserts (17x32 cm), in pantone, with black & white photographs. The catalogue lacks artworks reproductions; hence the focus lies on the exhibition as such and the exhibition design. Three files dedicated to the objects from the exhibition inlay the photographs, having details of paintings in the background, the function being to contextualize these elements. The cover goes back to the relation between object and artwork, showing a detail from the exhibition space. The spine, covered in canvas, does not show the title, but a fragment from a musical notation as in the logo of the exhibition.
