ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES

2019 // Paper Plane
The Paper Plane is intended as a conference or large dinnig table; its concept resulted out the ideea of connecting two paper planes at their tips. This connection gives the structural solution: like a paper plane, the two tails replace tipical table legs and hold the table together longitudinally. A third foot, crafted out of wood stands at the joint as a reinforcement of the cross-section. Even more so, this third leg comes along to divide the table and gives an off-center fulcrum, thus contributing to a more dinamic as well as practical proportion. The tabletop's dimension results from the span of the paperplane's wings and it displays a wooden finish which fills in the open parts. To enhance the design of a folded sheet of paper, the 4mm metal sheets which form the paperplane are painted white. The dimensions of the table are 3.30m long by 1m wide and 0.76m height. Due to different length options of each paperplane the dimension can be optional.

2019 // Split Table
Split Table is made in a minimalist approach. Two white metal sheets are mirrored away from each other in a way that it divides or shares sitting space in different places and offers stability. The table top has a beautiful textured wood panel that sits trough the metal sheets leaving two thin metal lines visible, proportioning it into three parts. Having such thin elements the table gives you the impression of paper sheets, but the division through the visible metal lines determined it’s name.

2018 // Cavaleri La Sposa
La Sposa is a new development of the Cavaleri design of Dan Andresan’s boat design range. This kayak’s unique hull shape that is aimed to those who appreciate a good styling besides practical and great hydrodynamic performance for their on-water leisure activities. That range of Cavaleri kayaks include refined handmade wood models and lightweight fiberglass fast boats.

For this new model, differences consist in a new approach of the building technique. La Sposa’s hull is made entirely of fiberglass resulting in a reduced weight and an important factor, low maintenance. Color is chosen as being the opposite of the high detailed mahogany black Cavaleri as a statement of the different building approach. Hence, its name, connected but different, the bride: La Sposa. The cockpit is larger and usable in different modes: transporting your gear for camping, for example. The single chair presented is adjustable in length. Oak wood details give this new kayak an elegant but delicate look.

2018 // Iron Wings
Designed around a massive wood piece, that can be a reused beam from old constructions sites or a special wood for a client, Iron wings table is a simple composition of materials. No matter how long the beam, this table can be made and assembled to suite ones needs. This object can be a 1.8-meter dining size table or a restaurant 4 meters long dinner table for 14 guests. Screws hold the two symmetrical steel parts of the top together with the wood part. The steel legs are simply fixed into a very precise cut into the wood beam. Manufacturing this table is very straight forward. The steel is simply bent and the wood has only the two CNC cuts.

Finishing of the steel in this case is transparent, letting the hand polished natural steel texture at sight. With many length possibilities and various treatments of the steel, this object idea can give you many variations by simple following the construction principle thought by Dan Andresan, its designer from DADA studio.
