HISTORY
Magdalena Butnariu is a young Romanian fashion designer currently enrolled in a master’s programme at the Fashion Design Department of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. There is always a concept to be found within her garments, which is based on her personal vision.
SPECIFIC
Her garments tell the story of a character that undergoes different stages as he/she constantly attempts to evolve both consciously and spiritually during his/her own personal journey. Her aesthetic involves creating a beautiful chaotic atmosphere injected with nature and inspired by seen and unseen things, mystery, rituals, subcultures, occultism, transformation and spiritual freedom. Fundamentally, whenever she researches a project, she tries to discover a world that captures various interesting aspects, which help people identify their own emotions in her self-made character. Her compositional mood includes layering of fabrics and edgy cuts expressed through a monochromatic or a desaturated color palette.
